What is TeachOUT - Outdoor Science Game?

TeachOut – Outdoor Science Game (or just TeachOUT) is an educational game designed to use on both Android and iOS. The app is developed as a tool for improving teaching that, together with the CMS creator, enables the teachers to make and publish outdoor science games for smartphones for their pupils to learn and enjoy on their field trips.

Who is it for?

It can be used by teachers or other people working in the field of education and by students.

Teachers (or any other person working in the field of education) can position GPS locations and enter the introductory descriptions with defined challenges in the CMS creator. They can take into account different learning styles as well as teaching and learning through all of the senses. After testing it, the creator of the game is able to publish their Outdoor Science Game in the TeachOUT App.

The students are then able to download the published game onto their devices and follow the directions in the game to go to predefined locations where the app will give them information about the location provided by the teacher, together with various (GPS-positioned) challenges. It gives students the opportunity to experience practical learning with a lot of independence, fresh air and physical activity.
